Shawn Newdeck, LCSW, Partner

  • Bryn Mawr School of Social Work and Social Research, Master of Social Service

  • PA-Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • 15 years of experience working with adolescents and adults specializing in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and couples/relationship therapy

I founded Watershed Family Counseling because I saw a need in the community for a warm, safe, non-judgmental environment where people could freely discuss their challenges with well-educated and experienced professionals. One of the most important aspects of psychotherapy is establishing trust with your therapist so you can openly and honestly discuss your specific hurdles. Our approach is client-focused, utilizing a professional network of both traditional and alternative therapies to help each client achieve their maximum potential.

For more than 15 years I have enjoyed working with children, adolescents, adults, and families and I’m pleased to join the Watershed Family Counseling practice to continue this fulfilling work. I believe therapeutic treatment offers the opportunity to achieve personal growth and self-discovery in a safe and private environment. I am experienced in helping people deal with issues such as depression, grief, anxiety, behavioral issues, life stressors, and trauma. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities because I believe that each client is unique and that therapy should be tailored to meet the needs of each individual.
